I. 00:00:13
I guess. 00:00:19
To the flag. 00:00:24
The United States of America. 00:00:25
And to the Republic for which it stands. 00:00:27
One nation under God. 00:00:30
And those visible with liberty and justice for all. 00:00:32
No, Mr. Chairman. 00:00:50
Mr. Chair, I'd like to make a motion to approve the presented. 00:00:54
2nd. 00:00:58
The second expression on the 2nd. 00:00:59
Yes, yes. 00:01:03
Yes. 00:01:05
Yes. 00:01:07
Hey, this is a workshop at sea. 00:01:09
Item number four is Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan Workshop to recognize and prioritize the list of 2025 to 2029. 00:01:12
Jenny. 00:01:19
Yes, Sir, Mr. Chairman. 00:01:21
Give everybody a little brief history. What we do yearly by statute, we have to have real quick, is the chairman. 00:01:24
Sorry, I got batteries, but I didn't turn it on. I apologize. 00:01:35
Thank you so much. Sorry about that, guys. Thank you. Now I lost my train of thought, Tessa. Darn it. OK. So every year by 00:01:38
statute, we have to have a workshop on the ICIP, the infrastructure capital improvement plan. 00:01:45
And what this is, is what we're going to ask our legislators for in the upcoming session as far as funding goes for our capital 00:01:52
projects. 00:01:55
Umm. 00:01:59
Couple things I'd like to point out. Lena's online. 00:02:01
She's been in the hospital and just got out a little while ago, but she didn't want to miss this. This is her baby and she wants 00:02:05
to be here to answer questions if she can, but I'm going to try and answer most of them. 00:02:09
Umm. 00:02:15
As we go through this, you'll see on your list. 00:02:16
These are priorities that the county has listed in the past. 00:02:19
These are projects that have not been funded or funded completely. 00:02:22
And so that gives us a starting spot. 00:02:27
On the bottom of the list are new projects. 00:02:30
The. 00:02:33
A couple of the directors are brought to us asking for different things that they'd like to get placed on here. 00:02:33
And just because they're placed on him that does of course that doesn't mean we're in get them funded, but it helps when they go 00:02:39
to the legislature and they say is it on your I CIP project and they say yes. 00:02:44
Then they know that it has Commissioner support. 00:02:50
So what we're going to do is work on prioritizing this. 00:02:53
And there's a couple of other items and commissioners have brought up on things that they'd like to see placed on here. 00:02:57
And. 00:03:03
That's pretty much where we can start from, one of the things. 00:03:04
That I'd like for you to keep in mind. And I don't need these answers right away today, but if you think about it. 00:03:07
During the legislature, we usually get commissioner or excuse me, legislators will call and say do we have any junior bill 00:03:14
projects? 00:03:17
What the junior junior build projects are looking for or projects are somewhere? 00:03:21
Anywhere from. 00:03:26
A few 10s of $1000 up to 100, two $100,000, so if you have projects in mind. 00:03:27
We might want to list those on here also so they're listed and the only project I thought of. 00:03:34
Right now is our Blend project that we're working on with. 00:03:40
MRD, CD and NRCS on the flooding because. 00:03:43
The engineer we spoke with before and we don't have all the details yet because of the study going on on that flood, is that we 00:03:48
could probably just do some dirt work down there for around $100,000 that would alleviate a lot of that flooding. 00:03:54
So something like that, something we might want to look at for junior bill money. 00:04:00
I agree. And with that, Mr. Chairman, I'd stand for questions as well as Lena. If anybody has any GLC from the screen, Lena is 00:04:04
online Zoom as well as Head of Mission Randy Gutierrez or Warden. 00:04:11
Thank you, Danny. 00:04:18
Commissioners, one thing that. 00:04:19
Did come up. I was approached by one of the councillors from the village of Los Lunas. 00:04:21
And they asked if we would consider putting on. 00:04:25
The Aquatic Center that they're wanting to construct, they're moving forward with it. 00:04:29
It's probably still a year or two off, possibly. 00:04:34
But they're looking for us to add it to our our IC IP. 00:04:38
As a means of supporting that project, making it more of a regional. 00:04:42
Request and. 00:04:45
A project and I told them that I would bring that. 00:04:47
Up to you guys today to see if there's any support in doing that. 00:04:51
They're asked on that is $20 million and I think Danny whom we spoke. 00:04:54
We kind of did the same thing with the I-25 project that you quarter project that we just basically listed it. 00:04:58
On RICIP with the same amount that they had requested. 00:05:03
And all it's going to basically do is show support for for that project in, in my opinion. 00:05:07
They did ask if. 00:05:12
Which you'd like to see it within the top ten of our projects to give it some. 00:05:14
Some priority, but that's up for discussion if you guys. 00:05:19
Whatever you guys feel on this site, I think it's a good project. I think it would benefit the community. 00:05:23
But I also realize that we have our needs also so. 00:05:29
There's a discussion on that at this time, or comments. 00:05:32
Mr. Chairman, I will say that at the state level, when it comes to legislators, they like to see regional projects. 00:05:35
Like see everybody getting together and working on things like that because it makes the money go a lot further. 00:05:41
Sure. 00:05:47
You know, I think that's actually a good idea because. 00:05:49
Los Lunas had their pool for many, many years and and since then the kids really don't have a lot to do during the summer. 00:05:52
I know they're using. 00:05:58
Is LED a pool for their swim teams and stuff like that but. 00:06:00
You know on the South part of. 00:06:04
The county, we do have blind and they have their swimming pools. 00:06:06
The north side, we really didn't have anything. 00:06:09
I think it. 00:06:12
I think it would show support for the whole county. 00:06:13
To to get something for kids. 00:06:16
And adults, you know to have something in. 00:06:19
Personally, I don't have a problem. 00:06:22
I think it's a good idea and I think we should be doing. 00:06:24
Working with Los Lunas. 00:06:27
And other municipalities to make sure that we have for. 00:06:30
Support for him. 00:06:32
Correct. 00:06:34
I I totally agree. I think it's a. 00:06:34
It's definitely a. 00:06:36
A project that the community would like to see way back. Several years ago, the city did a survey as to what the residents felt. 00:06:39
They'd like to see in the community in the swimming pool, was their number one ask. 00:06:47
And they've been working on it. They've got a couple of options that they're working through right now. 00:06:51
But in either case it regardless of what option they go with, it's going to require funding, so. 00:06:55
That was the ask that came to me. 00:07:00
Mr. Yes, I I agree with that. I think that's that would be a good. 00:07:03
A good addition to You know our ask about for for our. 00:07:11
Parks and Rec Department, and that's something we're working on, right? 00:07:15
Umm. 00:07:19
And by the same token, I think it would be good to ask the the village and city of Milan and maybe. 00:07:20
Husky Farm brought to everybody. 00:07:26
To put. 00:07:28
Flood control on their I CIP plan because that's. 00:07:30
Big. 00:07:33
I mean that's that's. 00:07:34
Regional as well, you know. 00:07:35
And I think that would help us. 00:07:37
The flood control is something we really need to work on. 00:07:40
It's it's cost the city of Atlanta a bunch of money. 00:07:43
And, you know, damage and time and effort on a lot of people's part. 00:07:47
Umm. 00:07:51
Maybe we can. 00:07:53
Reach out to the village and the city of Glenn also. 00:07:55
I can definitely do that. I think that might be helpful. 00:07:59
With you Danny, on that. 00:08:03
I think that's a good idea. 00:08:03
Either comments on that. 00:08:06
With that, Mr. Chairman, I guess we can look at the list and see if there's anything. 00:08:14
Did anybody would like to add besides that? 00:08:19
And if there's someplace, don't don't worry too much about the rank numbers to the left. 00:08:21
Because those will change if you just have someplace where you'd like me to. 00:08:26
Stick the Aquatic Center in there somewhere between 1:00 and 10:00. I can do that. 00:08:31
And go from there. And Lena, did you have any questions? 00:08:36
No, I don't. But Matt should be walking in. He was OK with putting the fire department at a lower rank. 00:08:40
Matt just walked in. Thank you. 00:08:49
Is that the police fire department? 00:08:57
He has two on here, the new Choralis department. 00:09:01
Or Alice and then also the metal light. 00:09:05
Community Center, which would tie in next to the fire station. Want to be a fire station, but it would be. 00:09:08
I was referring to the number one that we had, the new Choralis Fire Station, but he can clarify since he's there. 00:09:13
Would you all like to hear from Chief Problem please? 00:09:21
Hate to make you come all the way over here, not speak. 00:09:25
Good afternoon, Chairman, Commissioners, pologize for being a little late. We were dealing with the fire down on our olives, so. 00:09:30
Ohh, you want where you wanted the fire department. 00:09:36
Yes. 00:09:39
Ohh. 00:09:41
In talking with Lena, we've decided is to move the priority for the Hiral Station down a little bit. 00:09:43
The bond that we passed this past year. 00:09:49
Gave us some money to do some some upgrades and. 00:09:52
We've been able to do some pretty productive work in there. 00:09:56
I don't know if any of you have been past the building lately. It's night and day transformation from what it used to be. 00:09:59
So. 00:10:06
Part of the bond we had the building, all the. 00:10:08
Metal that was rusted through and dented. Replaced. The building has been repainted. 00:10:12
We did flooring on the inside. 00:10:17
The idea to. 00:10:19
Make the building more comfortable for for our personnel. 00:10:21
Well, we're actually going to look at and talks with the state fire marshals office is we're going to go out for the Fire 00:10:25
Protection grant for that district to do some building improvements. 00:10:29
And speaking with the same contractor that did some of our work. 00:10:34
We think we can do some work on the interior of the building that will actually give us quite a bit more life than we originally 00:10:38
thought, so. 00:10:42
With that, I'm willing to, you know kind of move it down on priority. I think we have some fleet needs and communications needs 00:10:47
that are going to. 00:10:51
Be priority for the fire department but. 00:10:56
I think that bond was huge, so I appreciate everybody that was involved in that because it it made a huge difference and. 00:10:59
Any of you that wanna see the station after the work, I'm happy to go down there and show you, but I think it's something we. 00:11:06
Definitely have a little more pride in at this point. 00:11:11
Great. 00:11:13
Mr. Chairman, I failed to mention that. I apologize that Melissa is here also. So once we finish with the counties, then we'll do 00:11:14
the Senior Center. 00:11:18
Senior OP. 00:11:22
Very good. Thank you, Dan. 00:11:24
Any questions of chief pro? 00:11:26
Thank you. Thank you. 00:11:30
If did you have anything you want to? 00:11:36
Bring to our attention. 00:11:38
Yes. 00:11:43
How about you? 00:11:44
OK. 00:11:46
Yes. 00:11:50
I know the Sheriff's Office in the background we have our communication. You Please wait till she gets the mic so you get it 00:11:52
recorded. 00:11:55
Government commissioners. 00:11:58
That we have our communications equipment on there. We always like to see it up high on the list. 00:12:01
It helps us. I did put in for. 00:12:07
$200,000 with the state. 00:12:10
Through the governor's office that they were willing to help us out with and we were given $200,000. We've already got the award 00:12:13
on that. So having that on that list really helps us out. So I'd appreciate it if you would keep that up there so I can keep the. 00:12:18
We can keep working on our communications in the county. 00:12:25
Don't want to mention. 00:12:29
You want me to or you want to? OK. 00:12:32
Thank you. Anything else questions? 00:12:34
Just does not know that on the bottom of our new projects this we added something that's. 00:12:36
At the bottom of the list, but he'd like to get it on there so we can start thinking about it in the future. Chairman, 00:12:43
Commissioners, yeah, I apologize. I didn't know it was on the list. I totally forgot. So. 00:12:48
For animal control or kind of focus on ICP has been vehicles. 00:12:54
Luckily enough, we've had a couple of substantial donations over the last couple of years and we've been able to purchase a couple 00:12:58
of vehicles. 00:13:01
And then we work in the budget to be able to replace the vehicle every year now. So we pulled out off the new, the new addition 00:13:04
that we're we're putting on the CIP for animal control is a new adoption facility. 00:13:10
It's a, it's a pretty large number. It's a little over $8,000,000 is what's projected cost of. 00:13:17
To fund it, it'll be on county property behind the existing shelter. We would turn the existing shelter into like an intake 00:13:21
facility, medical facility and then build a new adoption facility. 00:13:28
Unfortunately, I mean we've kind of mandated that that facility for years and we've added on addition after addition after 00:13:36
addition and. 00:13:40
It just it it's not keeping up with the numbers that we're running through it and our length of stay is kind of what we focus on 00:13:44
in the Animal Services world is. 00:13:49
Is how long we have to keep an animal before we can get it adopted, before we can reclaim it to an owner, anything like that? 00:13:54
The length of stay that we're having to focus on right now is tremendously low because the size of our facility and the amount of 00:14:01
animals that we're intaking. So if we double the footprint of our facility, basically we can double our length of stay and give 00:14:06
these animals a better chance of getting out. 00:14:11
I think with the the way our programs are moving forward right now with hiring a veterinarian, come October 1st, we'll focus on 00:14:17
spay and neuter for the next 18 months or so. 00:14:22
I think we can drop our numbers and increase our footprint. I think our program will be good for another 15 or 20 years without 00:14:27
any. 00:14:32
Additional expansion, I guess you could say. 00:14:37
But that's why it that's why we put it on there. So we can start focusing on and try to figure out where we can come up with 00:14:40
funding, look at, look at ideas, whether it be a bond or grants or donations or whatever it is. 00:14:45
That's what we have on there. 00:14:52
Mr. Chairman, if I may, just kind of skipped over a little bit, but he did hire. 00:14:53
A veterinarian? I'm not sure all the. 00:14:58
The Commissioner small about that. So that's something we've been trying to do for the last five or six years. So this is huge. So 00:15:00
we finally, just as Danny was saying, I was actually going to bring up tonight in the regular meeting, but. 00:15:06
I. 00:15:12
We finally, after years and years and years of trying, we no longer have a contract that. 00:15:13
October 1st we have a commitment from a veterinarian to start employment with Valencia County full time after shelter. So huge 00:15:19
huge accomplishment for. 00:15:24
Our department and our program and I can't wait to see where we go with it. It's just good. This is awesome. 00:15:30
That is great news. Congratulations. Thank you. 00:15:36
Long overdue. 00:15:39
Definitely, definitely. 00:15:40
It's here. Thank you. 00:15:41
Commissioners, any questions? Just. 00:15:43
I guess not. 00:15:47
Thank you. 00:15:48
OK, Commissioners, this is a. 00:15:51
Mr. Chairman, if I may please. 00:15:53
I hate to do it, but since I asked just two randys online, could you speak? 00:15:55
Randy, do you want to speak about the three items you have on here the? 00:16:00
Plumbing of the chases. 00:16:05
The training GM complex in the officer break room. 00:16:07
I think this is probably going to tie in with the renovation that we're. 00:16:11
Going to be spending roughly $7,000,000 on, but Randy I'll let you do that. 00:16:15
Good afternoon, chair commissioners. Yeah, like Danny said, I know we have some numbers that we've projected on here and if we can 00:16:19
get any of those numbers to move up on there would be greatly appreciated. 00:16:25
The jail has been open for 23 years. It is open 24/7, so a lot of these renovations and rehabilitations is a dire need. 00:16:31
It's some of the things where, you know, the pipe chases inside those units have to be replaced. They've been running water for. 00:16:40
23 years now going on 24 four years. 00:16:46
And you know, once the expansion happens, I've budgeted yearly to accommodate some of them. But it it's it's getting old. You 00:16:49
know, the showers have been constantly running for 24 years. So it's time to to do a little bit of rehabilitation in there. So you 00:16:55
know, it'd be greatly appreciated if we can move up any of those to to help facilitate the needs of the gel over here. 00:17:02
Good. 00:17:10
Questions of Randy, anybody? 00:17:12
They need to do anything else? No, Sir. That's it, Mr. Chairman. 00:17:16
Chairman. 00:17:19
Yes. 00:17:20
This is Lena. I'd like to bring up one project for public works. 00:17:21
Um, that I would love to see on the top five is, which is the I25. 00:17:25
Expansion from Hwy. 47 to Manzano Expressway. 00:17:30
OK, we have that. That's nine now move it up to. 00:17:35
Five or higher. 00:17:38
If possible, yes. 00:17:40
OK. 00:17:41
Questions on that, Commissioners. 00:17:43
You know anything else that you want to share with us at this time? 00:17:50
No, I think that's the only project that I had that I really wanted moved up. 00:17:54
And hopefully keep Highland Meadows in the multi-purpose park within at least the top 10. 00:17:57
Very good. Thank you. And I'm glad you're feeling better. 00:18:03
Thank you. 00:18:08
Daniel put point we're going to approve this. 00:18:14
Lena. 00:18:17
This will be approved at the first meeting in August. This is due August 18th to the Department of Finance. 00:18:18
OK. Thank you. 00:18:25
Do you think, Commissioners, any discussion on some of the projects and new projects, existing projects, you have a question of 00:18:29
Chief Prop. 00:18:33
On the Hirales. 00:18:37
Fire department Is that something you'd still like to see in the top 10, or could it go just beyond? 00:18:38
Chairman, Commissioner, I think. 00:18:44
At this point, I'd feel comfortable with the. 00:18:46
Dropping back so it's not competing with some of the other big bigger projects that have been listed today. 00:18:48
I think with the bond and a little bit of money that we've we've put in. 00:18:55
And with the. 00:19:00
The likelihood of the grant to help us with the last of the improvements. 00:19:02
I think we're going to be able to buy. 00:19:07
You know, 5 to 10 more years from a facility which is. 00:19:09
Definitely a relief. 00:19:14
But I think. 00:19:16
Giving priority to to a couple of the other projects by moving that out of the top ten, I'd I'd be comfortable with that in. 00:19:17
Actually, if I can bring up two more just in. 00:19:26
Some text conversations with Lena. 00:19:29
A couple of the fire department projects. 00:19:31
Are going to change and that's actually as a result of a conversation just this morning. So I apologize that it's not on that 00:19:35
current list, but the two projects that we're going to be seeking are. 00:19:40
The replacement of two rescues 2 Transport capable rescues. 00:19:46
This is kind of in relation to the fact that we've seen a reduction in service of the AMR. 00:19:51
Our requirement for transporting patients is becoming more and more frequent, so. 00:19:58
We're going to be seeking 2 new rescues. We did just purchase a brand new truck. And I can tell you that that truck has been 00:20:03
Albuquerque quite a bit taking patients up there. So what we'd like is to get one of those rescues into each district. So we'll 00:20:08
have two of those as a. 00:20:13
A project and I'll get with Lena to get those on that list. 00:20:19
The other one is going to be very similar to the Sheriff's Department, just in a communications as. 00:20:22
You know, we're all looking to upgrade our communications ability, but. 00:20:26
I think there's some stuff on there about the Meadow Lake fire station equipment. We're going to pull that off of there. 00:20:32
And I think there is something on there for an ambulance already, but. 00:20:38
I wish we were still at $150,000 for a vehicle like that. 00:20:43
We're not even in the ballpark anymore, so. 00:20:48
To give you an idea, each of those ambulances is about $350,000. So we'll be looking at around the 700 mark for for two of those 00:20:51
trucks. 00:20:56
Communications wise. 00:21:01
Probably very similar to the sheriff, the 1:50 to 200 mark, but I'll get with Lena and make sure that that list is updated for you 00:21:02
prior to the 1st and. 00:21:06
Well, prior to that, so you have time to. 00:21:11
I'll look at it and if there's any questions I can answer, I can. I can certainly do that. 00:21:13
Thank you. 00:21:19
Thank you. 00:21:20
Look that answer. 00:21:22
I could see us pulling that off the top 10 for sure. 00:21:26
And I know with many of the commissioners sitting up here, multi use Parks is. 00:21:30
Is getting. 00:21:35
More and more attention from. 00:21:36
Our constituents and stuff like that. I think we can probably move that up and you can ask for a bigger amount. 00:21:39
With some potential new ideas coming up for. 00:21:45
Recreation. And. 00:21:49
And. 00:21:51
Stuff for our growing population, so I'd like to see that and then if. 00:21:53
Would be alright with Commissioner. 00:21:58
Richardson, I know. 00:22:01
Commissioner Carl Berg introduced this. 00:22:03
Several years back and. 00:22:06
It was an idea back then, but I think it's. 00:22:08
No longer feasible because because. 00:22:11
Cypress Garden is building at the end of it now. 00:22:14
So I don't think there's the availability for a relief route at this point. 00:22:16
And that once were. 00:22:22
That ones 11. 00:22:24
Yeah, that makes sense. 00:22:28
OK. Is there any? 00:22:32
That you're talking recreation? 00:22:35
Regarding including the I thought the Aquatic Center or stand or standalone. 00:22:38
I think that could stand alone for Valencia County products or Valencia County things alone. But. 00:22:42
With the. 00:22:47
With removing her Ellis off, we can. 00:22:49
Sure enough, upbringing muscle mass project. 00:22:51
Into the top ten with that. 00:22:54
Maybe a little higher since it's as long as it's in the top 10 or #10. 00:22:59
Know where they feel that there's that. 00:23:05
Unity there. 00:23:08
Yeah, I think so. 00:23:10
Ohh, you guys OK with just moving up #2 to #1, that Highland Mills Community Senior Center, I know that that's been. 00:23:12
Uh. 00:23:18
A real need for many, many years and I think we've worked hard to get it to that point, absolutely. 00:23:20
Mr. Sparkman, I know that's now your district. I'm sure you would. I would like to see it, number one. Yeah, I know that everybody 00:23:26
else is OK with it. 00:23:29
That's good. 00:23:33
OK. 00:23:35
Danny, do you want to work on the rest of the? 00:23:36
Uh. 00:23:38
Placing of these items as far as Yes Sir ranking. Or do you want us to give you some? 00:23:40
I I think I've got it written down pretty well here. 00:23:45
Moving 2:00 to 1:00. 00:23:49
Moving one down to what's probably most likely in the top 15. 00:23:51
Leaves the multiple use parks would then move to #2. 00:23:55
They've moved the flood plan protection plan up to #3. 00:24:00
And so on and so forth through there and taking off 11 at this part at this point. 00:24:05
I do want to keep the. 00:24:10
Rehabilitation for the admin, building on there for fixing to spend a lot of money on the upstairs. 00:24:12
And I think we need to just continue as we're going through. We got a plan for the whole. 00:24:19
The whole building, which is 14 million. 00:24:23
And. 00:24:25
I know we want to plan for growth as we go forward, so I would not like. 00:24:26
I would. 00:24:31
Prefer not to remove the construction of a new admin building. I don't care if it's. 00:24:32
Down a little bit. I don't see us getting a lot of money for it right now. We're still in the process of trying to get the 00:24:36
property from the state. 00:24:40
Which in a 30 day session, most likely they won't hear that, but we're still going to try anyway. We've already done the appraisal 00:24:43
for that. 00:24:46
Then there's a fund for courthouses now that's in introduced this session and. 00:24:49
And the fund should. 00:24:55
Continue to grow throughout. 00:24:57
Years. 00:24:59
That we may be able to draw from that eventually when we. 00:25:01
You will. 00:25:04
Very good. 00:25:05
Missions. Any other questions on this part of our CIP? 00:25:08
Mr. Chair, please. 00:25:11
Going back to the flooding. 00:25:14
On on those smaller bills that you were talking about, yes, Sir. 00:25:16
Do we have a rough idea of? 00:25:20
What the flooding has cost Valencia County over the past 10 years. 00:25:22
No, Sir, I do not know that number. 00:25:25
Fans. 00:25:29
Definitely millions. 00:25:31
My opinion, if we could might have a get. 00:25:34
You know a roundabout number, that's. 00:25:37
Halfway decent that we could put it. 00:25:39
That would cost the state. I know the. 00:25:41
The the OT. 00:25:43
Millions of dollars in. 00:25:46
You know, if we could, if we could, try to figure out a way to show that. 00:25:48
You know, if we put a little bit of money into it, we could save a whole lot of money. 00:25:51
Yes. 00:25:55
OK, Mr. Anything else on this part? 00:25:57
Item 4. 00:26:01
One thing that's sure please. 00:26:04
Commissioner Aragon was had mentioned we want to. 00:26:06
Increase our our ask for the multi use. 00:26:10
Works program there. 00:26:13
Got $1,000,000 and that is that. 00:26:15
Is that enough to? 00:26:19
Get anything going? 00:26:21
Yeah, that was. I was thinking that when. 00:26:22
You're talking about the ask for a pool is 20 million a month? 00:26:25
We're asking for $1,000,000 million bonuses. 00:26:29
Probably not enough. 00:26:31
I I will make that correction and ask for a lot more. 00:26:33
OK. OK. Thank you. Thank you. 00:26:36
Anything else? 00:26:43
That's it. OK, we'll move on to item number 5. This is the ICI heat plan. 00:26:45
For the OP. 00:26:50
Souvenir. 00:26:52
Commissioners. 00:26:56
I want to talk about the community centers both in Meadow Lake and glad to hear you guys are talking about Highland Meadows. 00:26:58
I'm working with OP to find out what our numbers are there in regarding to serve the seniors. 00:27:04
How many are coming into Bolen to eat and how many we can actually serve there? 00:27:09
So any consideration there would be awesome. 00:27:14
Meadow Lake working with Lena. 00:27:17
Regarding the facility, because it also serves as. 00:27:20
Where we feed the seniors. 00:27:24
For the congregate meals and also obviously for the community so. 00:27:26
Looking at some exercise equipment there. 00:27:30
The Balance Senior Center has gotten some renovations over the last few months with the junior bill that we received this spring. 00:27:33
But it's still in need of some stucco and some equipment for the kitchen. 00:27:41
And then we're on phase two, which I'll ask anemias to talk about a little bit regarding the. 00:27:47
Renovation of Del Rio Center. 00:27:53
Which will be used as. 00:27:56
An additional kitchen. We were calling it a backup kitchen, but an additional kitchen in case the Belan Senior Center goes down 00:27:58
for some reason. 00:28:01
So those are our thoughts for that and head of me is, I don't know if you want to add anything else to the Del Rio. 00:28:06
Heather, Mass. If you're listening, you're on mute. 00:28:15
He's in person. 00:28:19
There you go. 00:28:21
Good afternoon. 00:28:24
Chairman, Commissioners, so as Melissa mentioned. 00:28:25
We were able to complete a lot of necessary projects. 00:28:29
Enhancements to the Blend Senior Center with this previous round of junior bill funding. 00:28:34
In addition. 00:28:39
We just received another round of junior bill funding. 00:28:40
It's not necessarily tied. 00:28:44
To any particular Senior Center, it's broad in nature so that Melissa can use those. 00:28:46
$250,000. 00:28:52
Across the board, so. 00:28:54
At this current moment, Melissa has. 00:28:55
Quite a bit of funds to complete any necessary upgrades. 00:28:58
Items that are outstanding. So I know initially there were some projects that we had to table due to budget constraints. 00:29:03
So after discussing with Melissa, those particular projects can be completed. 00:29:11
With the junior bill funding. 00:29:16
But again, she. 00:29:18
After having discussions with her staff. 00:29:20
You know, there's just some other projects that they feel like they mentioned the stucco. 00:29:23
That's that's an expensive one. 00:29:27
That's one that I really don't think that we should utilize the junior bill funding for. 00:29:29
You know. 00:29:34
Discussing with Melissa, you know, addressing some of the HVAC. 00:29:35
Issues that we have. Any electrical code compliance issues? 00:29:39
I I think that this would be an appropriate use of that funding. 00:29:44
But I stand for any questions. 00:29:48
Any questions? 00:29:50
Mr. Chair, please on the HVAC. 00:29:51
Do we still have ARPA funds? Because that was a big one. 00:29:54
That with the air quality. 00:30:00
The filtration systems. 00:30:04
I know they were pushing hard for. 00:30:05
I mean, is there still time for any? 00:30:09
So as of now, we're pretty much tapped with our ARPA funds being that. 00:30:10
We really have not yet started construction with the jail expansion. 00:30:17
So just we just want to make sure that any contingency funding that we do have with ARPA can in fact supplement the necessary 00:30:20
construction for that jail expansion. 00:30:25
But again, you know, as it relates to the junior bill funding. 00:30:31
We can utilize that for for any HVAC upgrades that may or may not be needed. 00:30:35
Thank you. 00:30:42
Any other questions? 00:30:43
Comments. 00:30:45
Yeah, wouldn't comment on the OP. We have Highland Meadows Senior Center is item four. I don't know that matters, Danny. We have 00:30:48
it #1 on our CIP for the county. 00:30:53
Not the OP, it's it's all county do we need. 00:30:58
As long as it's in the top four, I think it's. 00:31:01
Probably OK. Or do. Yes, Sir, you should be fine. OK. 00:31:03
Fishers. Anything else? 00:31:11
Anything from Steph? 00:31:13
No, Mr. Chairman. With that being said, we are adjourned and we will revisit this. 00:31:15
Here in a couple of weeks. 00:31:21
Thank you. Thank all of you. 00:31:23
We'll see you guys shortly for our next meeting. 00:31:25

I. 00:00:13
I guess.
scroll up
